An epic trip to Australia for colonies followed by a flying visit to Dubai does not do this mission justice. Crashed planes, storms in China and mass maulings are some of the stand out moments!

The Green Planet, Dubai…..

A fantastic fusion of nature and themed rockwork combines to make this attraction surely one of the most interesting in the world. Expert staff, a range of animals which are truly inspired and remarkable, coupled with an overall concept of educational entertainment, makes this a must visit attraction.

We built part of the exhibit to house the backup colony in glass, utilising a moat and island to prevent escapes.

In the main exhibit the ants are allowed to leave their travelling container and establish themselves on a series of Ficus benjamina.

The ants literally swarm everywhere within their new home. They were fed crickets which they took pretty much immediately.

I had to leave before the ants had finished leaving the travelling bucket so the finished picture I have is one of them still moving out. However I am told they have built ‘baskets’ and have properly moved in to their exhibit and are doing very well!
